You’ll notice something radically different when you open your copy of The Sunday Times. With full colour on every page, the newspaper has a bright new look, but that’s only the start of what’s changed.
You’ll find an expanded Comment section, with more space for top writers such as India Knight, Simon Jenkins and Rod Liddle. Elsewhere, the writers you enjoy most – AA Gill, Bryan Appleyard Christina Lamb and others – will receive more prominence.
A custom-designed typeface and a bold, new masthead will make The Sunday Times more attractive, and each section will be colour-coded, making it easier to find what you want – and giving you a clear path if you want to explore parts of the paper you don’t usually read.
We’re also encouraging more contributions from the people who mean most to us – our readers. Special sections will enable you to interact with our journalists, and enter into debates on the important (and not-so-important) issues of the day.
The new look of The Sunday Times is designed to give Britain’s best Sunday newspaper a bright and inviting appearance, without affecting its reputation for authority and award-winning journalism.
We hope you like it.

I love the new style of the Magazine, but the Culture section is much too cluttered now - a real trial to read as it is so cramped.
Becca, Ashford, UK
Each Sunday morning for some time now I have binned all but the Main section, Ecosse and the Supplement. I do this before I reach home in order to avoid complete boredom. Now that the latter is such rubbish and you threaten me with more AA Gill, time to change papers. Nihilism I don't need.
John D Burgoyne , Stonehaven, Scotland
There are some aspects of the new design I like. But I don't like the new layout of the culture magazine. The border around the page seems like pointless ornament, it makes the pages more cluttered looking and fussy. Bring back white space
Sarah Moloney, Tipperary,
Reading the Sunday Times was one of life's pleasures. I do not like the new layout and now feel less inclined to bother reading it.
Reading the Times when it was a broadsheet was, similarly one of life's pleasures. Since the format was changed to eezireed , I rarely bother to buy it at all now.
PN SKINNER, SHEFFIELD,
Stop dumbing down - the Toy Town colours and increased number of sections is irritating. The News Review is a plae shadow of its former self.
Peter Littlejohns, Southampton, England
Excellent, I was getting rather tired ofthe dated layout. The 'New Look' is easy to read and very well laid out. However, don't spoil the present look with too much colour or clashing typography !!!
Kevin Green, Lambourn, UK
Please please leave your excellent paper alone One of the pleasures of retirement was to order daily delivery in the knowledge that I had time to digest the contents. Your advertisment in the Saturday edition for the Sunday Times looked like Heat magazine. Don't dumb down your excellent paper"
Rosie Butler, York, United Kingdom
Oh no! Please think again about "painting" the times. Less substance, more gloss equals poorer quality newspaper!
If it ain't broke don't fix it is a very apt phrase for the new look.
A Firth, Haverhill, England
What have you done ? Didn't like it at all. Yesterday - a week after your relaunch was the first time in probably 20 years I haven't bought a Sunday paper & didn't buy the Sunday Times. I just couldn't buy an alternative but couldn't face another Sunday like last week. Please think again.
Gez Kelly, York,
Oh there are some grumblies about - its great - nice and bright and cheerful and not difficult to find old favourites, and Im an OAP. Don't ever let Mr Winner go - he makes me laugh every week, and Rod Liddle has just made me roar with laughter about the blind ATC apps. Thank you all. Jay
Jay Every, Lincoln, UK
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Where has the real Sunday Times gone? New appearance & layout brings it down to level of the other wishy washy broadsheets. Also, bring back broadsheet format for Times. Talk about style over substance.
Brain Wells, Les Eyzies de Tayac, France
If you hadn't pointed out the chanages I don't think I would have noticed
Bill Hodgson , chelmsford,
I didn't notice any difference!
Bob Douglas, Staines, England
Old font much easier to read .. don't like new format at all
Richard Pain, London, UK
Where have the tide times gone?
Justin Murphy, Kilsheelan, Ireland
"Colour = Dumbing down"?
How might a flurry of colour affect the quality of the journalism?... It couldn't!!
A tip of the proverbial hat to you Sunday TImes, and thanks for keeping things rolling on and on and on... The second you stop, is the very second i bounce.
Toodles.
Sam Fitzpatrick, Cardiff, United Kingdom
Awful. Like being hit with a sledgehammer!
OK part of it may be my initial resistance to change but I don't like the blocks of colour (very tabloid!) nor do I like the typeface.
As far as I can see it's a dumbing down of my favourite paper.
Cliff Redman, Worthing,
Couldn't stand it.
Thought I had mistakenly bought an Observer.
Much preferred the old font and layout.
It is like supermarkets - change the location and appearance of everything; and people will have to search for things and then buy/read items they hadn't wanted to.
Probably save my £2 next time.
David Rawles, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
I told my husband off for buying the wrong paper yesterday - I could have sworn it was the Telegraph!
I can't say I noticed any benefits to the new colours / typography, but I'm all for progress. It may not have been needed, but an occasional re-design never did anyone any harm (Berliners apart)
Ally S, London, UK
A real mixed bag. I don't like the fussy font at all - its much harder to read. Why don't you just use flama for the standard text? I do like the News Review of the Week and the summaries in Money and Business. Also Little Britain. The colour strip at the top of each page is really naff though.
Jon Hemming, Walsall, UK
I have just read todays new look times. Great extra colour.Unfortunately on the downside Where have the currency prices last year gone ? Why have the lottery numbers disappeared from the second page along with short news items and why must the colour banner feel that it is taking up half a page.
Largey, Kent, England
The New Look is ok but will take time to find the articles & feautures. Usuall y it use to take me 2 hrs to read the Sunday Times, today it took nearly 3. I have been unable to find the contact telephone numbers on any pages. Can't find the Screen offer, not on the web page Really got frustrated.
Mukund Raval, Harrow, Middx.#nc\#++2#/+#n3c2
Like to nice and clearer new format with easier reading of articles of key interest.
A favourite newspaper of mine goes on from strength to strength.! Well done and keep going.
Situl Shah, Eastcote, Ruislip, UK
Yes, I did notice something radically different and I absolutely hate it!!
Why do we need colour on every bleedin' page? Why have you changed the format of the sports section?
My verdict? Two big thumbs down and I shall buy the Sunday Telegraph in future.
Bruce Chalmers, Goring by Sea, UK
A real mixed bag. The colour at the top of the page "to find articles quickly and easily" is hilarious. Look in the purple bits rather than look in the sport - or whatever section it is... funny how i've managed to find everything i want all these years without a silly gimmick like that.
Jon Hemming, Walsall, UK
