It is some years since I was able to return to my homeland, Holland, and then I was able to purchase a five-day first-class rail card in England for travel in Holland. The company issuing these tickets does not seem to exist any more - can you please tell me where I might purchase the same card in England before I travel to Holland? Simon Dokter, via e-mail

Times travel expert Julia Brookes responds: It's possible to buy InterRail passes for 28 individual European countries, including a Benelux pass that includes the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Adult first-class fares start at £125 for three days, rising to £262 for eight days.

As you are Dutch, you should carry identification showing that the UK is your place of residence and you have lived here for a minimum of the past six months, as these passes cannot be used in the holder's country of residence.

InterRail passes can be purchased from Rail Europe (0844 8484070) or from the Rail Europe Travel Centre at 1 Regent Street, London SW1.
